TryHackMe Lab and Security Analyst Roadmap

In this project, I am building a home lab for TryHackMe and completing the free Security Analyst roadmap.

One of my favorite online platforms to use for learning cybersecurity is TryHackMe. They offer various learning paths to explore, including Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, and Security Engineer. However, their web-based hacking machine allows only 1 free hour of use in the learning rooms. In this project, I fix the issue by creating my own hacking lab using Kali Linux and VirtualBox, then connecting to TryHackMe using their OpenVPN for the free Security Analyst path. Additionally, I want to explore TryHackMe's new SOC simulator and complete the free tier rooms.

What I am using for this project:

• Oracle VirtualBox (free for private use)

• Kali Linux .iso file (free)

• TryHackMe's free Security Analyst roadmap

• An internet connection

As of right now, I have finished creating the hacking lab and am about two-thirds of the way done with the free Starting Point machines. When they are finished, I will be exploring the free rooms in TryHackMe's SOC simulator.
